Foracort is a combined medication featuring the active ingredients Budesonide and Formoterol. This inhaler includes a corticosteroid that inhibits the release of inflammation-causing substances and a bronchodilator that relaxes the muscles in the airways, making breathing easier. Foracort is primarily prescribed for the prevention of asthma attacks and for the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD) when a single medication is ineffective.

Budesonide acts as an anti-inflammatory corticoid drug, whereas Formoterol serves as a bronchodilator that eases the muscles in the airways to facilitate breathing. This inhalation combination treatment is prescribed to prevent asthma and to manage Degenerating Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

Formoterol is administered to relieve wheezing, shortness of breath, and breathing difficulties associated with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD). The Foracort Inhaler is also utilized to address bronchospasm (narrowing of airways) in individuals experiencing nighttime asthma. This inhaler is used for treating asthma and is also effective for preventing and treating various nasal, throat, or lung allergies.

Formoterol falls under the category of medications known as long-acting beta agonists. It aids in relaxing the muscles of the air passages, thereby widening them for easier breathing. Budesonide belongs to a class of medications called corticosteroids, which work by minimizing swelling and inflammation in the nose, throat, lungs, or intestines.

Potential side effects of Foracort may include: a sore throat or tongue, which might be attributed to a candida infection (thrush), hoarseness or throat irritation, nasopharyngitis, headaches, tachycardia (increased heart rate), tremors (a shaky or tense feeling), and palpitations.
